Why locals love it

“This season is off to a great start,” said Kelsie Cobb, market manager. “It is beyond rewarding to see so many people come out and support small business owners and local farmers. I don’t think there is a better way to spend Saturday mornings in Statesboro!"

It's that personal connection that makes the market so unique and keeps people coming back, week after week. Behind every product, there’s a story, and every Saturday there is a chance to discover something new. Maybe it's talking with a farmer about the chickens that laid this week’s batch of eggs, or learning how a local artist discovered his or her passion. We encourage you to ask questions and talk to the vendors to learn more about what you’re purchasing.

What you’ll find

Every visit to the market is a little different, but it’s always packed with the freshest foods and handcrafted products. Here’s a taste of what you can expect each Saturday:

• Fresh farm produce, including locally grown fruits and vegetables, and free-range eggs

The perfect way to spend a Saturday

The farmers market is a beloved part of the weekend routine for many locals, and for good reason. Here are just some of the ways you can spend the morning:

• Start with a freshly brewed cup of coffee and a breakfast pastry as you wander the market.

• Shop for what’s on your grocery list, or choose something different to spice up your weekly meals.

• Ask a farmer for recipes with that new veggie you’re trying.

• Let the little ones enjoy playing in the kids’ area.

• Grab a beautiful arrangement of flowers to brighten up your space.

• Chat with an artisan about their work and connect with the community.

• Sit down, relax, and enjoy some top-tier people watching.

The beauty of the market is that you don’t need a plan to enjoy it — just show up and have fun, and leave with something that fuels you for the week ahead.
