With Georgia’s sunny skies and warm weather officially here, now is the perfect time to check out Statesboro’s lineup of upcoming spring events. From enjoying live entertainment and celebrating Free Comic Book Day to attending the award-winning Statesboro Kiwanis Rodeo, there are plenty of opportunities to make lasting memories with friends and family.
Statesboro Kiwanis Rodeo
If you are looking for a thrilling all-ages experience that captures the excitement of cowboy culture, the Statesboro Kiwanis Rodeo is for you. Established in 2011, this annual tradition is hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Statesboro in partnership with Hedrick Rodeo and Miss Rodeo USA. As one of the club’s largest fundraisers, the rodeo draws visitors and locals alike each year while raising funds that benefit the Bulloch County community and other areas served by the Kiwanis Club.
Recently, the rodeo earned national recognition from the International Professional Rodeo Association as one of the Top 5 Best Indoor Rodeos and Top Five 5 New Rodeos, a reflection of the dedication and hard work of everyone involved.
You can catch this fan favorite at the Bulloch County Agricultural Complex for a three-day extravaganza, Thursday–Friday, April 23–25. Tickets can be purchased through the rodeo’s website beginning April 1, or in person at McKeithen’s Hardware or Taylor’s Sunset Tanning. Because the rodeo is extremely popular and often sells out, securing tickets early is recommended.
Each day of the event features a variety of adrenaline-packed competitions, including the wheelbarrow race, cowgirl breakaway roping, barrel racing and more. One of the biggest draws is the bull riding competition, where riders are judged on both the difficulty of the bull and the rider’s skill. It is eight seconds of pure adrenaline!
If you start feeling peckish, a wide selection of food vendors will be available, offering everything from barbecue and burgers to funnel cakes. After the action concludes, guests also have the opportunity to meet the cowboys and Miss Rodeo USA — perfect for grabbing a photo or autograph to remember the experience.

Statesboro Main Street Farmers Market
The 2026 season of the Statesboro Main Street Farmers Market opens Saturday, April 4, welcoming fresh local produce, handmade goods and a lively atmosphere back to downtown Statesboro.
Shoppers can browse offerings from regional farmers, artisans and food vendors while enjoying the welcoming energy that has made the market a favorite weekly outing.
The market takes place every Saturday through Thanksgiving from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Market at Visit Statesboro. This season will feature several new vendors alongside the core group of longtime favorites that visitors look forward to each year.
BIG Boro Bash
Another upcoming community event in Statesboro is the BIG Boro Bash. Hosted by Eagle Entrepreneurs with local partners, the event was created to highlight businesses that call Statesboro home. Originally envisioned as a formal business expo, it quickly grew into a city-focused festival celebrating local businesses and entrepreneurs.
This year’s bash will feature more than 75 vendors, food trucks, a cornhole tournament and live music from Colby Anderson. The Statesboro Vintage Market will also be part of the festivities, offering shoppers the chance to discover one-of-a-kind treasures.
The event takes place Saturday, April 18, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Business Innovation Group. It promises an afternoon of fun while recognizing the many businesses that contribute to Statesboro’s vibrant community.
Free Comic Book Day
Comic book fans can also look forward to Free Comic Book Day on Saturday, May 2. As the largest event in the comic book industry, Free Comic Book Day invites readers to explore the world of comics while supporting independent comic shops.
For the event, major publishers such as Marvel Comics provide participating stores with a selection of titles to distribute to visitors at no cost. In Statesboro, you can participate by visiting Galactic Comics & Games to pick up your free comic. While there, take time to browse the store’s full collection, which includes comics, collectible card games and board games.
Whether you are a longtime comic fan or new to the genre, the day offers a fun opportunity to explore something new with family and friends.
