A chef, a team, some opposites and a set of twins

SEB girls

Welcome to what we have affectionately dubbed, “the love issue.” Of course, that’s not all you’ll find in these pages, but you will find enough of it to make you feel all warm and fuzzy.

We have interviewed two couples for this issue, with the theme, “Opposites Attract” in mind. The Karpers seem to be opposites in every way possible, but they say they said “I do,” and they will never say “I don’t.” Our other couple is the Blackmons, who are also polar opposites in many ways, but they say those differences make them work as a couple, and they wouldn’t have it any other way.

We are also featuring two remarkable brothers in this issue – twins in fact. Tavon and Davon Woods started life in the foster care system, and are now on the other side of it, but they cannot forget that experience, and are working to bring awareness to the system, and to the children currently in it. You will not want to miss their inspiring story.

This past season for the flag football team at Southeast Bulloch High School has been one for the record books. We’re so proud of all the team accomplished, and we know you’ll enjoy reading their story. Congratulations on an amazing season, ladies!

Lastly, our cover feature this month is a remarkable young man who is making waves in the culinary world. Chef Patrick White is incredibly talented, and he’s one to watch as his successes mount up day by day.

Be sure to savor this issue – it’s one we know you will enjoy.
