Handmade
ceramic bowls will be on sale Saturday during the Bowls in the Boro fundraiser
at the Statesboro Main Street Farmers Market.
The Averitt Center visual arts team, along with local artists, students and other volunteers, formed clay into bowls on the wheels, fired them in the kilns, glazed them and then refired them. Each bowl is unique for a special, one-of-a-kind item which has a variety of uses. Because of the intense firing process, each bowl is safe to use in the microwave and even a household oven. Bowls in the Boro is an annual fundraiser for the visual arts program of the Averitt Center for the Arts.
The bowls will be on sale for $10 at Saturday’s market, which is from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Charlie Olliff Square at Synovus on East Main Street.
