Chartreuse Trio

The Georgia Southern University Department of Music will host a concert as part of its On The Verge new music series on March 12, featuring the Chartreuse string trio.

The trio consists of violinist Myra Hinrichs, violist Carrie Frey and cellist Helen Newby. The long-distance-trio pools the strengths of their cities of residence, Chicago and New York, commissioning new works from composers across the globe and collaborating with fellow performers.

In their debut performance at GSU, Chartreuse will perform mystical works from recent years. The sounds will be inspired by the transparent textures of clouds swirling through mountains, the tactile exploration of folk instruments, and the mosaic tiles of an iconic Chicago building.

Chartreuse will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the Carter Recital Hall.
