From Billy Joel and Tom Petty to Neil Diamond and Jimmy Buffet, the Mars Theatre will have it all Friday night as part of A Night in Effingham. A Taste of Effingham starts at 6 p.m., but the live show kicks off at 8.
“There should be a little bit of music that everyone will enjoy,” said Allison Newberry, theater director. “I’m sure everyone will be singing along. This is a wonderful event for downtown Springfield.”
Expect to hear classic songs from the 70s and 80s from greats like John Mellencamp, Johnny Cash, the Doors, Neil Young and Glenn Frye. There may even be a few Elton John songs thrown in.
Brian La Blanc, the lead singer for 1 Stop Pony Band, has created the most unique band, capturing the voices of many of your favorite musicians. La Blanc changes his look and attitude to personify many of the great singers.
Taste of Effingham tickets are $15 and available through the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce. Reserved seating tickets for the show are $40. Purchase Taste tickets from the Chamber first and receive a code for $5 off each concert ticket. Beer and wine will be available during the live show.
